SRM TERROR Choke – Benelli Crio – 20ga – 575

$95

SRM TERROR chokes are manufactured from heat treated 17-4 stainless steel for maximum strength and corrosion resistance. The extension area of the choke is coated with black Cerakote.

TERROR chokes are designed for experienced shotgunners who wish to either cleanly kill the bird or miss it entirely. We only offer a couple of exit diameters in most choke models for that reason. We recommend hunters use smaller sized shot, lighter payload weights, and higher velocity shotshells in conjunction with our chokes. For example, in our 20 gauge shotguns, we use a 575 TERROR choke with 7/8 ounce of #4 steel shot for ducks and #3 steel shot for geese, both loads having 1500 fps velocities. If you prefer a 12 gauge, we recommend the 675 TERROR choke using the same pellet sizes in a 1-1/8 ounce steel load with the same 1500 fps muzzle velocity.

Obviously, the most critical part of making clean kills is your ability to hit the bird. Our chokes will not make you a better wingshooter. If you are not proficient with a shotgun, our TERROR chokes are probably not a good option at this time. Once your shooting skills are improved, you will be proficient enough to appreciate the effectiveness of a TERROR choke. The density of the pattern will allow you to consistently head and neck shoot birds for clean kills without damaging the bodies.

The less constrictive TERROR chokes are available for hunters who might not be confident in their shooting skill yet, or they only shoot birds in very close where the pattern does not have time to lose its density. We only shoot the tightest TERROR chokes in all gauges, and we rarely shoot birds outside of 30 yards. We understand that everyone is hunting in different conditions and only wish to offer advice for you to consider. There are no definitive rules when it comes to cleanly killing birds, except you have to hit them up front. We always tell the people who call us, “You need to focus on the bird’s head, and as you become more skilled, you will find yourself locking in on just the bill or beak.” With just a bit of practice and discipline, you will be cleanly killing birds and not putting pellets in the breast meat.
